Great for interior accents, accessory cases, ring cases, etc. It is made of wood (probably walnut) and surrounded by silver metal. Is what they said. I don’t think it’s pure silver because there is no stamp. I think it is an antique item that has a good old atmosphere, is practical, and is easy to get used to. I suspect this pretty snuff or tobacco box was a retirement gift. Marked with the “three crowns” for Swedish sterling silver. Date code X5 = 1876, so inscribed 1884 after manufacturing date. I could not identify the silversmith or town mark. The top is monogrammed “ATL”. The reverse is inscribed “af Arbetare”, translated (I believe) to “from workers”. Condition: Decent giftable condition. Mentionable issue: corners of lid show damage as seen in photos #6 & #7. The lid does not stay shut, probably because of this reason. Monogram and inscription as described and photographed. Surface patina has light surface scratches commiserate with age and use. No pings, dings, dents, bashes, flat spots, carbon spots, gouges, unusual scratches, or other mentionable issues. Recent thorough hand polish. Dimensions: 3.25″ wide x 2-1/8″ long x 1 thick. Silver weight: 69 grams. Note some photos appear redundant because I take photos from all possible angles. On symmetrical items, these photos may appear redundant when there are no distinguishing differences or condition issues between side views. All dimensions and weights approximate. I try to list EVERY flaw which would be commented on something in an antique or vintage condition – this does not mean all imperfections resulting from normal wear & use require comment. My goal is to have no rude surprises upon receipt.

Here we have a very extraordinary and rare antique Austrian Snuff Box or Cigarette Case An amazing enamel colorful flower atop the silver with ornate roses along the side and a wonderful engine turned bottom Lovely Example of a Vintage Austrian Snuff box, We have never seen another one like it This antique Snuff Box will shine in any snuff box or silver collection. Zoom up on each Photograph to notice the Elegant Detail and Charming Personality. Hallmarked Made in Austria Sterling with a 15 Condition : There is some marks on the enamel. The cover opens with nice tension and closes securely. The hinges appear to be in good original condition. Measuring approx 3 1/8” x 2 1/8” x 3/8” tall and weighs approx 80 grams Zoom up on each photograph and notice the detail and wear. This is a vintage / antique case and shows age. We used a silver coin for size comparison also and the coin does not come with box Would make an AMAZING gift idea for your special loved one PERFECT gift idea for the Quality Collector or one who appreciates Fine Antiques in your life.
