Antique Imperial Russ Tsar’s Era Faberge Cigarette Case Silver Enamel-1886-Boxed. This amazing case was made by Faberge’s Workmaster Vladimir Soloviev. The case has been awarded by Tsar Alexander III to the elite Husar Officer Captain Eduard Rodionovich Lindeman. The case comes from his family estate. The case has a separate match stick vesta compartment and a place for silk wick. When you light a match stick-you light the end of the silk wick whihc is under the silver cap and this way you use the entire case as a lighter. The wick burns very slow and is wind proof. There is a special wheel mechannism to move the silk wick back and forth. Unfortunately the silk wick is missing, but probably it can be replaced with a new one. The case is decorated with the owner’s monogram in the middle. Also decorated with the miniature of the Imperial Russ Orders of St. Anna 4th Class; the Order of St. Andrew The First Called ; the Order of St. George and with the Monomakh’s Cap-the symbol of the Romanov Dynasty. 98mm x 60mm x26mm thick Very impressive-195g heavy The case comes with the original matching luxury red morocco leather presentation box signed in Cyrillic Faberge, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Odessa, Kiyv, London and decorated with the Imperial Coat of arms-the double headed eagle. PREMIER ART DECO STERLING SILVER CIGARETTE CASE. Late 1920s product of Moore & Hofman (Newark, New Jersey). Superbly bench-crafted at the height of the Roaring Twenties. Moore & Hofman were successors to Schmitz, Moore & Co. Operating from 1915 until 1922. Cushion shape with gently rounded corners. Hand hammered cover with bold geometric incised borders and marvelous “Japanese” script monogram. Spring assist p ush-tab opening on a flush seven-knuckle hinge. Spring-loaded pierced bar secures contents against snailed wall. Back edge stamped “STERLING” “8” and carrying conjoined initials MH of the maker. The condition of this nearly century old case is nothing short of astounding. 4.2″ wide to push-tab, 3.3″ deep, 0.5 thick. 106.2 grams or 3.4 troy ounces.

Many of the items for sale at Jim’s International Bazaar were collected by Jim on his around the world adventures as an author, photojournalist, and photographer. They include Turkish rugs, copper and brass, and artifacts from China, New Guinea, Africa, and South America. These things are from his privet collection, none were bought for the purpose of reselling but rather to decorate his home. Many new items will be listed as they are unpacked from storage along with a wonderful collection of photographic prints including many wildlife photos and prints of tigers photographed in China. Is an internationally renowned photojournalist and adventurer, with two major photographic books (New Guinea & Cannibal), plus covers and major spreads in a whole host of internationally prestigious magazines from Life International to The Geographic and Argosy. He’s been shipwrecked in the Pacific, wrestled camels in Turkey, and scoured the New Guinea Highlands in search of missing American heir and adventurer Michael Rockefeller. He has also lived and worked in the jungles of New Guinea for over two years while collecting material for his books and records. A blue-water yachtsman, he sailed his own 60ft yacht, the “Moana Vahine”, from Hong Kong to Southern Turkey, down the South China Sea, across the Indian Ocean, and up the full length of the Red Sea, via Singapore, Penang, Sri lanki, The Maldive Islands, and French Djibouti. An avid diver and spear fisherman, he mounted a series of diving expeditions in The Maldive Islands and The Red Sea.
