1979 Case HA199 1/2 Naughty Lady Knife Mint In Blue Box Nice & Rare. PLEASE DO NOT MISS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN THIS FINE CASE COLLECTIBLE! 1979 Case HA199 1/2 Naughty Lady Knife. The handles are clear with a picture of what was considered a “Naughty Lady” forty years ago. The pattern number is HA199 1/2 SSP. The HA stands for “High Art”. This knife has one (1) dot. This indicates the knife was made in 1979 at Bradford, PA. The blade is a stainless steel with a satin finish and nice etch. The bolsters are nickel silver and the liners are brass. This knife Is 4″ long when closed and the blade is 3″ long. This knife is a great example of a high quality mint Case knife. This model of Case knife has a very unique feature. The handle is clear to reveal a picture on both sides of the handle. The handles are pinned on with four polished brass pins. The tang is stamped CASE XX – USA. There is 1 dot below the USA, indicating the knife was made in 1979. The reverse tang is stamped HA199 1/2SSP. The bolsters are nickel silver with clear handle and silver pins. A VERY UNUSUAL CASE KNIFE IN VINTAGE BLUE BOX. The knife is 7 1/4″ long with a 3″ blade. The knife is 4 long when closed. The handles are clear and the knife has a stainless steel blade. Courreges Paris is more popular overseas it seems, and they’ve made some pretty swift stuff. This vintage rare cigarette case cosmetic lipstick pouch box with the gold tone logo emblem and navy blue white striped block design is in very good condition, only real callout besides light scuffs and rubbing is the magnet closure is pretty weak. Still closes shut, and the flap being shaped with edges ensures no wrinkle damage which is really nice. Clean interior but do peep underneath the flap for some residue. Maybelline came in two shades, black (containing lamp black) and brown (containing iron oxides). The product was applied by first wetting the cake, then using a small brush to lift and apply the colour to the eyebrows and eyelashes. A Little More History Thomas Lyle Williams, a young entrepreneur from Chicago, noticed his older sister Mabel applying a mixture of Vaseline, ash and coal dust to her eyebrows to enhance her eyes. Inspired by the potential of her homespun solution, Thomas used a chemistry set to make a better one, but his first attempt was unsuccessful. So he commissioned Park-Davis, a wholesale drug manufacturing company, to make a suitable product for sale. This first product was named “Lash-Brow-Ine”. In 1917, with the assistance of Park-Davis, he began production and sale of a cake eyelash and eyebrow beautifier: this new product was named “Maybelline”. In the 1920s promotion play an important role in the success of the company, with a lot of advertising featured famous actresses such as Phyllis Haver, Ethel Clayton, Viola Dana, Ruth Roland and Natalie Moorhead. In the same years, the company expands beyond Maybelline cake mascara by adding a waterproof liquid version (1925), eyebrow pencils and eye shadow (1929).
