This is an antique salesman’s sample collection that is in remarkably excellent condition, with most pieces retaining a shiny finish. Each piece is marked with the. Jahncke’s Patent, Registered 15 May 1880. One piece is stamped with a diamond pattern mark, though I don’t know how to read it. The collection includes a mirror box, 2 Mitrailleuse (machine gun) needle cases, and a sachet tin case, among others. The lid for the wood/paper container box is missing. Founded in 1873 by Ernest Jahncke and incorporated in 1893, Jahncke Ltd were tin box manufactures from Canonbury Works, Dorset Street, Islington. Bryant and May acquired an interest in 1895, with Jahncke boxes being used for their wax vestas. Jahncke Ltd was liquidated in 1963.

Wonderful Antique Chinese’Blue Enamel Cloisonne Smoking Box’ with Three Separately Hinged Compartments. All Over Repeating Scallop Design’. Measurements shown in photos. The exterior and interior are excellent. No dents or losses. The inside is immaculate! Original clean sheen, even the ash holder. Each independently hinged compartment opens smoothly to reveal it’s original blue enamel shine. All 3 hinged tops, all walls, corners, hinges etc, are inline and there are no dents, rust or corrosion, and no twists. Original with no repairs or alterations.

Antique Imperial Russ Tsar’s Era Faberge Cigarette Case Silver Enamel-1886-Boxed. This amazing case was made by Faberge’s Workmaster Vladimir Soloviev. The case has been awarded by Tsar Alexander III to the elite Husar Officer Captain Eduard Rodionovich Lindeman. The case comes from his family estate. The case has a separate match stick vesta compartment and a place for silk wick. When you light a match stick-you light the end of the silk wick whihc is under the silver cap and this way you use the entire case as a lighter. The wick burns very slow and is wind proof. There is a special wheel mechannism to move the silk wick back and forth. Unfortunately the silk wick is missing, but probably it can be replaced with a new one. The case is decorated with the owner’s monogram in the middle. Also decorated with the miniature of the Imperial Russ Orders of St. Anna 4th Class; the Order of St. Andrew The First Called ; the Order of St. George and with the Monomakh’s Cap-the symbol of the Romanov Dynasty. 98mm x 60mm x26mm thick Very impressive-195g heavy The case comes with the original matching luxury red morocco leather presentation box signed in Cyrillic Faberge, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Odessa, Kiyv, London and decorated with the Imperial Coat of arms-the double headed eagle.
