This is an antique salesman’s sample collection that is in remarkably excellent condition, with most pieces retaining a shiny finish. Each piece is marked with the. Jahncke’s Patent, Registered 15 May 1880. One piece is stamped with a diamond pattern mark, though I don’t know how to read it. The collection includes a mirror box, 2 Mitrailleuse (machine gun) needle cases, and a sachet tin case, among others. The lid for the wood/paper container box is missing. Founded in 1873 by Ernest Jahncke and incorporated in 1893, Jahncke Ltd were tin box manufactures from Canonbury Works, Dorset Street, Islington. Bryant and May acquired an interest in 1895, with Jahncke boxes being used for their wax vestas. Jahncke Ltd was liquidated in 1963.

Vintage Antique Early 20th Century, England Carved Wood Karelian Birch with marked 375 (European Gold Standard which is 9K) Gold Clasp, Fancy Cigarette Trinket Case Box. Measuring 3 5/8″ by 2 3/4″. The case is showing regular wear of age with minor dents and scratches. About 1 visible scratch (see photos), looks very organic. Opens and closes smoothly, good snap.
