United States Bronze Star Medal in case. Stitched ribbon slot broach pin attachment. This is the smaller hard to find Navy version of the “coffin” style case that was typically ww2 produced. Also, named on back of the Bronze Star to: Daniel J. Most likely 1940s-1950s (ww2-Korea) era. For American medal cases, the U. “Coffin” style cases were ww2 produced. However, the “coffin” style cases/boxes were used right up to and through the Vietnam conflict as supplies of the medal boxes were used up (so you can find WW2, Korea, and Vietnam era medals in this style of case). Next, clear plastic cases/boxes were used in the 1950’s and 60’s (typically you see Vietnam era medals in these cases). The clear plastic cases were followed up by the dark blue vinyl-type grained textured cases/boxes with the metal rims which were utilized in the 1970’s follow up by dark blue vinyl-type smooth covered cases with metal rims. After that, there were blue vinyl-type smooth covered cases without metal rims. Finally small hard shell plastic blue cases were introduced.
