Materials: colored enamel, jewelry alloy, Swarovski crystals. Height: 6.5” (16.5? M). This egg was made in 1898 and was given by Nicholas II to his wife, Alexandra Feodorovna. The Egg is known for the wonderful brass flower composition representing lilies of the valley, masterfully accentuated with detailed, sparkling enamel designs. This wondrously beautiful Easter Egg seems to contain the many wonders of the Universe in every molecule of its essence – and since time immemorial, this has truly fascinated every woman on Earth! Vintage The Stuart Library The Complete Collectors Display Case Number 100-WH. This is new old stock, in the original box. Box was opened to take the photos. This llisting is for the the CASE only. No doll furniture included. Condition Please Note: New Old Stock. It has been in storage a long time, An original box is included, but it is not the best condition and has age staining. The wall joints do not “overlap” in the corners, so you can see the vertical seams in the corners where the walls meet. The fireplace wall is slightly “ivory” rather than pure white like the floor and other 2 walls. The “ivory” color for the fireplace wall is not mottled, it is consistant color, even coloring, all the same ivory tint for the entire fireplace wall. In the late 1970s, The Butterfly Collection offered to collectors a series of authentically accurate, perfectly scaled, one inch to one foot (1:12th scale) miniature furniture. The Butterfly Collection was marketed by Goebel through Hummelwerk which later became Goebel Miniatures. Two collections included at the time were the Stuart Library and the Chippendale Drawing Room shown on the right. According to his article published in the August 1979 issue of Miniature Collector, John M. Blauer writes: The Butterfly Collection pieces are painstakingly researched and originally are constructed in wood. These little masterpieces are used as the prototype to make copper molds, from which the Butterfly Collection is produced. The furniture is cast in high pressure resin, which captures proportioned wood grain, delicate marquetry, finely curved cabriole legs, turnings, fret work and working drawers and doors. Each piece is hand assembled and decorated, with special attention to drawer pulls, knobs, brass hinges and tiny keyhole plates.
